The tournament will be processed the week that begins Monday, October 20th, 2008. Please get web combat orders set and tournie entry forms submitted BEFORE Monday afternoon. The web combat orders will be downloaded around 5 pm central Monday, along with the last check for entries. The web combat orders you have in the system AT THAT TIME will be the ones used for the tournament.
The tournament is actually three different tournaments:
Each category involves groups of eight, with the groups determined by Power Level. It will be double elimination, so each entrant is assured at least two fights in each category entered.
The price is $5 per category per character. Simply being in the tournament will gain each character 25 Experience Points per category, in addition to EPs gained from combats. Prizes for first and second in each group will be like last time (gold for 2nd, gold and prize from grab bag for 1st), and every participant is eligible for randomly drawn door prizes.
You may put down "random partner" for Mixed and Doubles. This is an easy way to get a partner. Keep in mind the selection is absolutely random.
No need to worry about what guild a character is in, or if they are out in the wilderness. All active guild members can participate. A character that hasn't been active since the last tournament is quite likely archived (out of the system), and thus will have to be brought out of archives with a regular guild turn before he/she can participate in this tournament.
Outcast characters cannot participate. Likewise for Dragonspawn (and Dragoncall) characters that have not yet sat out for one regular tournament.
Characters that aren't participating in the tournament can spend the time gaining EPs and KPs by watching the tournie combats intently. For each category a character can buy a VIP Spectator Pass for $5, which will grant 25 EPs and 25 KPs per category. To do so send in an email with the subject "GM Note: Spectator Pass" and give the character name, ID#, and list of categories involved. Your character will receive the EPs and KPs before their next active turn, but won't actually get any tournie results.
