What is Adventurers Guild?

Adventurers Guild is a turn-based fantasy role-playing game of arena combat, adventuring, and exploration that you play through email and the web.

If you're looking for fancy graphics, eerie sounds, and gory images, this is not the game for you. But if you're looking for something socially interactive, mentally challenging, and strategically compelling, give AG a try. Instead of your moving a character around a 3D virtual world, the AG action comes to you in text format - a story of what your character experiences in the AG world, based on choices you make.

You can enjoy AG on your schedule, alone or with friends. And it's a great way to meet new friends. Since turn orders are due every two weeks you'll be able to play when it's convenient for you, yet still be involved in a world with hundreds of others.

In Adventurers Guild, you create your character from scratch, choosing from many different races and distributing development points among attributes and weapon skills. After fighting and gaining experience, you are able to raise the attributes and improve and add other weapon, magic, combat, and non-combat skills, as well as purchase items with gold earned through fighting or betting on other fights.

Each game turn in the guild consists of at least seven (7) battle fights against others of roughly the same power. You may also choose to participate in an additional challenge fight, and you can visit many of the taverns, temples, and other places of interest in and around the city.

Once you have enough gold to equip yourself and are willing to brave the world outside the Guild, you may team up with other characters or go solo to any of the many adventuring sites in the hope of gaining greater experience, gold, magic items, and fame.

The newsletter created with each turn contains the results of the battle fights, what's going on around the Guild, a member ranking table, and other information of interest.

• Turn fee in the Antar or Barstow guilds is $5.75 per adventurer per turn. Compare that to other long running and reliable games that charge up to $10.75 for a turn of only five fights.
• There are no additional fees except for optional Dream Challenges.
• You will be given access to a secure AG web area which allows you to edit and submit orders easily, and at your convenience.
• Currently there are two guilds, each with its own personality, and many known, and unknown, adventuring sites.
• AG was consistently one of the top (if not the top) rated games in the pbm magazine Paper Mayhem.
