Our third Adventure Tournament will last three turns, and will involve prizes each round as well as for the accumulated scores.
* - The Hole is a new adventure site due to open turn 438. Seers are certain a very large hole will appear somewhere roughly equidistant from Antar and Barstow that week. They are also fairly certain it contains a threat to the kingdom. That is all the information available at present.
Every participating character must buy an Adv Tournie Badge (item #264) on each turn of the tournie. Use the 'Buy the following items' field on the PC's Improv web form. The badge costs 1 (one) GC, and must be taken along on the adventure. Buying a badge triggers the $5 entry fee charge, so only buy extra badges if you wish to donate to EPM. :-)
At the end of each turn all badges will disappear.
A new measurement has been created, the Adventure Tournament Score. This number starts at zero for each PC, and is added to at the end of each adventure combat.
For each defeated monster add the result of (PL of monster) divided by (PL of party). So if your party PL totals 5000 and you defeat three monsters that are each 1000 PL then each PC's score would go up by (1000/5000) + (1000/5000) + (1000/5000), or 0.2 + 0.2 + 0.2, which is 0.6.
PCs that have left the adventure do not continue to accumulate points.
As you can see, the Adv Tournie Score is heavily determined by what monsters you face (and defeat). A monster that retreats successfully is not considered a defeat. Decisions regarding difficulty level, path selection, party organization, and other adventuring aspects can become very important.
To differentiate between party members at the end we're going to use our old friend, the Adventure Score rating. This value divided by 50 will be added to the Adv Tournie Score.
- Buy a badge. Bring it along.
- Any party that has a hireling, companion, summoned being, or pet along will likely receive a score of zero.
- Buy a badge. Bring it along. Really.
PCs out in the wilderness are encouraged to send in a GM Note turn 436 requesting a free teleport back to the guild hex. Another GM Note turn 439 can be used to return the PC to where they were at the end of turn 435.
Dragonspawn (and Dragoncall) characters can participate. However outcast characters cannot.
Every participating character will receive an extra 25 or more EPs each turn, the more depending on the PC's Adv Tournie Score.
Also in each guild those PCs that are ranked in the top 20% based on Adv Tournie Score each turn win one of the following prizes (their choice):
Added to that list for the Grand Prize winners are:
The top 5 in accumulated score in each guild will win a Grand Prize selection.
If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments please email Hugh or bring them up on the guild email list.
