Book 86 -- AN ADVENTURER'S SONG (last revised 07/13/08)
We came from the field and the farmstead, We came from the vale and the hill; For we heard the call of Adventure! - We came to the doors of the Guild! We could have stayed home and raised children, We could have raised cattle and corn - But we are the brave hearts, the daring; We know that for this we were born! O, many are cowering in castles, Closed off from all danger and strife - But we are the children of Boldness And we scorn to know such a life! O, many are cautious and fearful: Untrusting - untrusted by all - But we know the bond of true courage: Together we stand or we fall. We thrive on the thrill of the battle, We stand for the Truth and the Light; We are the Protectors of Antar! Beware, all you servants of night!
